CHAT SESSION 85 with Sam Crawford also known as Coach Crawf

Topic- Happiness is in the pursuit of going after your dreams, and the world starts working in your favour when you begin to action your dreams.

Monday 9th December 2024 1pm https://rppfm.com.au

Before we start, here is an invitation to gently inhale through your nose. Pause at the top.

Gently exhale through your nose and let the weight from your shoulders melt away.

Return to your natural breathing rhythm.

Let’s dive in.

Sam Crawford is someone who has an intense curiosity for life, health and understanding human potential.

Sam understands the opportunity that he has been gifted simply by being born and raised somewhere like Australia. His curiosity for life has sent him traveling the globe with his best friends straight out of school and more recently with his lifelong partner Matilda. Through these life experiences he has gained a deeper perspective on what it means to be human.

There has always been a desire for Sam to bring out the best in himself yet throughout his journey, challenges have always presented themselves. Suffering knee injuries throughout his football career, his family losing everything they owned and throughout the year 2020 his friendship group losing 2 of their closest friends.

2020 was the year that it all changed for Sam. After losing 2 friends to separate circumstances and the challenges that we all faced throughout 2020 in lockdown, Sam began to experience feelings of anxiety and depression.

He looked at himself in the mirror one day and decided to make a change. So, throughout lockdown Sam studied to become a Breathwork facilitator and Personal trainer, whilst doing some deep personal development to understand who he was, his purpose and ultimately fulfill his desire to become an entrepreneur.

In 2021 Sam Launched a Holistic health brand that taught people how to move in the gym, breathe and be healthy. It started with 5 people coming down to the beach and ended up with 150 people practicing breathwork, connecting and jumping in an ice bath on Saturday mornings each week in summer.

After a couple of years moving people out of their comfort zone there was something calling Sam to continue to learn more about himself first so he could serve others at a higher level.

He stepped away from his first venture in business and set sail over to Central America with his fiancé Matilda. Together they explored Mexico and Guatemala, shared memories with strangers, surfed, connected with ancient cultures and saw how connected communities were with each other and with nature.

One step back to move five steps forward.

After spending all the money, he had on traveling he deepened his understanding around breathwork, healing, health and trauma. Sam is now the founder of Basecamp Breath which is a center point for people who are on a journey to understand their potential. Basecamp holds weekly breathwork sessions on the shores of the Mornington Peninsula that act as a home base for people to find center, connect with other like-minded people and evolve into the most authentic and inspired version of themselves. They hold wellbeing workshops in schools and businesses & take retreats for the modern-day hero to step out of the fast pace of life to remember who they are.

Sam also works with people in a 1:1 capacity to connect them with their potential through breathwork and a personal development blueprint.

Some scary statistics that Sam wishes to bring to our awareness in regard to physical and mental health below:

  • The obesity rate in Australia was 15% in 1970 it is now 33% according to www.obesityevidencehub.org

  • 75% of people who take their own life are men.

  • Sperm count in men has declined by 59.3 percent over the last 40 years.

  • 1 in 5 people in Australia are experiencing a mental health illness. (Reported)

  • Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death globally.

There is obviously a health epidemic and there is more urgency surrounding this topic right now because it affects someone within your circle.

In a world that is disconnected from each other and the planet we live on Sam believes that as a species we must evolve, move past our fears and start to create a future built on connection, health and love. It starts with you. It can start with your breath.

In conclusion Sam says, “The future will be bright for those who chose to ask better questions”
