CHAT SESSION 69 with Nikki

Topic- Bayview Care is assisting individuals and families to develop skills and gain the support they need to create stronger futures through Mentoring and Community.

Monday 19th August 2024 1pm https://rppfm.com.au

Bayview Care provides a range of support services to families and young people on the Southern Mornington Peninsula. Their mission is to assist individuals and families to develop skills and gain the support they need to create stronger futures.

All their services are aimed at developing strong and resilient people for strong and resilient communities. They believe that communities are stronger when people have the resources, skills, and confidence to flourish in work, study, and all areas of life.

Bayview Care also operate a community mentoring program working with kids in local schools and adults in the community in need of tailored, one-on-one support to reach their goals. The program offers social play and community building activities for preschoolers and their carers, and teens looking for something to do on Friday nights. They also serve breakfast to Rosebud Secondary College students twice a week. In addition, the program also supports a growing, cleaning and gardening social enterprise creating jobs on the Peninsula helping people re-enter the workforce.

In October 2023, Bayview Care launched the Gathering Tree Collective, a community shop with a local impact that specialise in quality second-hand goods, upcycled and sustainable products, and art from local makers.

The Gathering Tree Collective is a social enterprise, which means they have more on their mind than making money. All profits fund Bayview Care in a mission to mentor and support people within the community.

People like Dawn, a participant in the COACH Community Mentoring program, and volunteer mentor Marion work on goals set by Dawn to help create a stronger future. Dawn says, “it is so valuable that I have someone I can talk to, someone I can direct myself to. Having someone I can clear my head with, and set goals with, has helped me clarify my next steps a lot more. They may be baby steps, but they are still steps I can take in a positive direction”.

Pop into Gathering Tree Co and browse around or enjoy a coffee and relax!

 Open Monday- Saturday between 9am-3pm

Together, Bayview Care and the Gathering Tree Collective are helping create stronger futures within the community through mentoring, intentional relationships, and practical support.
